Class Notes & Tips

Ninja are tough little bastards.  I hatehatehate (Kefka) fighting them!  They can be irritating in both the Front Row or the Back Row.  Especially if you get some relatively early, and place them in the Front Row. No class can get three single attacks quicker for you, save a neutral encounters with a Werewolf!  But Ninja gain such uber levels, that you will wonder where they’ve been all your life!  They have insane in the membrane Agility.  This means that they will attack before most other characters and dodge attacks really often too! And, if some mysticism is your bag, baby, then place these guys in the Back Row, and they can act as more durable Wizards for you!  The only slight drawback is that there are not as many elemental attacks to choose from for the Ninja when he’s back there.  Still, the flexibility that is there should give you several options for your units.

The one problem that I have is actually getting these. If most of your Fighters end gaining the way they should, you may find yourself scant of Fighters with both high Charisma and low Alignment!  By the time you reach Level 6 with them, you may have to take the ‘consolation prize,’ and wait for the Samurai, which is actually not as good as the Ninja.  Or, so I’ve been told by many of you over the years!  I’ll shut up about the Samurai for now.  Later Evil Ted, later... A targeted attack from the Back Row is fine and all, but the down in front is the place to be. The high Agility will act as a sort of armor, because they won’t be hit very often at all, unless it is some magical attack.  A nice trick is that if you have a few guys gain some levels as Ninja, the super Agility gains will be noticeable in their new class, especially if it is notoriously slow.  You should probably have at least 3 or 4 for your fighting units, and then see what happens with them. You should have enough to at least ensure you a few Ninja MastersThose guys rock the boat, and tip the boat over!
