Class Notes & Tips

This class refers to Kaus Debonair and Prince Tristran of Zenobia. Like the Dragoon class, you cannot ever promote a character to this class. Only these two special characters can be one.  Sure, there are other enemy Generals out there, but these are the only two you can get to join your army! Like Dragoons, these guys are unbelievably powerful as well.  They gain even better levels than the Dragoons do, if that’s even possible!  And, they move slightly faster as well.  Their defenses are not quite as good, however.  You can’t exactly go willy-nilly all over the place with this class, as Black attacks will cause some damage to them; but you can go close to it! Their main attack is not as strong as a Dragoon, either, but when comparing it to the normal classes, it is still at the head of the class.  But still, they have so much Strength behind their hits anyway, that it really is not that noticeable. It will romp all over enemy units!

The interesting thing is that each General can recruit radically different character classes.  This can be your chance to pick up some of these sometimes hard to get classes, such as Evil Ones and Doll Masters.  Also, you can’t go wrong with extra Doll Masters and Mages!  And, once these Generals get to high enough levels, once you recruit any of these character classes, you can promote them right away to their next classes!  How does the idea of instant on command Devils sound to you!!  Some say avoid putting a General ‘front & centre” in your unit because they have low defenses. I say the hell with it.  You will destroy any unit that you run into anyway, because you will most likely have really powerful spell casters behind him. And, you can afford probably afford the luxury of putting a Monk back there also, which will heal him if he does get low on Hit Points.  I like to put these guys in the same unit as their girlfriends. Well, Tristran doesn’t have one I guess. But Debonair has Norn, and so I pair them up.  If you turn her into a Princess, which is highly recommended, you don’t even need anyone else in the unit they beat ass so much!  Almost...  Whatever unit you decide to use a General in, you really can’t go wrong!
