Class Notes & Tips

A Cerberus is king of the mountain!  Well, maybe after a Salamand, but still, he’s a high class character for any mountain expeditions you hope to make!   He still has his 3 great Front Row attacks, but in the Back Row, he mixes it up a bit.  It is an improperly named attack. You might think, “whoa, cool, just like the Vampyre!” Well, it would maybe be cool if it were true, but that’s not the case. Sometimes, it will do a simple Fire Breath attack. Other times, it will unleash Charm, or Mesmerize (the PSX name of the attack), which is a single stun attack. Yep, just like the Witch, only the Cerberus version hits one character. And, the terrible thing is that it is completely random which attack type he will use! So, you may as well just use him in the Front Row, which is where he rocks anyway. His levels are really super; he has no deficiencies at all with his stats.  These overall values are some of the highest out of any class!  Where he is crippled are his defenses. White & Lightning attacks are especially hurtful to him, but the rest will do a good chunk of damage also.  Just remember to keep him in his favorite stomping grounds, and you should do just fine.

I would only recommend at the most two Cerberus in your entire army.  At any given time, you will probably not have more than two Mountain units deployed. Maybe three for those really annoying maps. And, not every one of them will have a Cerberus in them.  However, pair him up with Werewolves, or maybe a member from the Red Dragon class, and you’ve got a really deadly unit. As with all mountain units, try not to have them off on their own too much, because they will get into trouble.  There are no character classes that can be a leader and have the Mountain terrain type, so you have to be careful about protecting whoever you do decide to use as the leader. At least the Cerberus will soak up damage really nicely for the leader.  Some players don’t even bother with Mountain units at all. However, if you are not one of those, then take a good look at this class. A Beast Master can recruit this class if you are interested.  Save for a few weak defenses, he is exactly the type of character you need!
