M.O.B.Q. Rating: A-

STAGE FOUND:

Antanjyl

TOWN FOUND:

Antanjyl (Boss fight!)

BOSS CONFRONTATIONS:

None

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Non-equipped “BRUNHILD” (Brunhild), a Reputation & Alignment lower than 30.

HOW TO GET HIM TO JOIN:

Galf was imprisoned here after his participation in the previous Ogre Battle that took place. (Plot, not video game!) And, he’s trying to get out to begin his reign of terror again. Here’s the low down. Besides you being real bad, there is one important thing you must do.  Galf needs the “BRUNHILD” (Brunhild), which would enable him to leave his exile. In order to do this, it has to not be equipped on any of your characters.  The game won’t register it any other way. So, once it’s in your item reserve, go over and throttle his ass.  After you have beaten him, he will request that you give him the “BRUNHILD” (Brunhild).    Do so, and you have one of the Bad Man’s right hand men in your rebellion!

Phantom

Wow. Look at all those Phantoms!  Talk about overkill and no variety! At least this class is a pretty good one, and four should be more than you’ll need to replace any Ghosts that you may be using still.  A really bizarre thing with Galf in the SNES version is what classes he can recruit. Unlike normal Devils, he recruits only Pumpkins!  Very odd little bug there...
Galf should fit in very very nicely in one of your fighting units.  Since he is already a Devil, you don’t have to worry about keeping any sort of attention to his Charisma & Alignment to be able to promote him to this class. Besides, he’s a big badass underworld warrior. Why should he care what lowly humans think of him!  He’s evil!
