Class Notes & Tips

I should probably start out by saying I’m not a big fan of the Beast Man class tree. First, you need borderline evil Charisma & Alignment requirements for the Beast Master.  Then, if needing a damn “DRAGOS” (Stone of Dragos) to promote to a Dragoner wasn’t enough, to get a Dragon Master, you suddenly need “Goodly Hero” Charisma & Alignment requirements. I wish this class would made up its mind! After all the trouble, I feel that you don’t even get a powerful enough class to make it worth your while. This class has less than great defenses all around, and only gains Knight caliber levels. Fire attacks are really troublesome here.  Maybe only acquire one of two of these for future purposes.

However, this class does have a few uses.  If you manage to find a “DRAGOS” (Stone of Dragos) or two, then you may as well stick with this class.  I like to try and promote Gilbert & Lyon to Dragon Masters, because of the type of units I like to have them lead. However, those are the only Beast Men that I would even bother with, honestly.  If that!  The thing about them is that they do cause more damage to enemy creatures, but your own creature classes that are in the same unit as a Beast Man or Beast Master won’t fight as effectively because they are scared of the whips. And who wouldn’t be, ya know?  Well, I guess it depends on who is using it, and for what purpose, eh? At any rate, don’t bog down your units with too many of these, and class change the ones that you start out with or otherwise find to other classes when you are able to.
