Class Notes & Tips

One would hope that such a terrible base class like the Wild Man would get some drastic improvements.  Not to be!  This character class is pretty useless. Ideally, this would be the equivalent of a Paladin, only evil. But this class doesn’t even have three attacks in the Front Row! Another thing with this class is the difficulty of getting one.  Try keeping your Charisma high and your Alignment low, and you’ll know what I’m talking about.  Having a 60+ Charisma & less than 30 Alignment should get you something better than this!  And, needing to be one level higher than a Paladin (Level 16) would lead you to believe that this guys was worth it. I would rather rack my brain trying to get a Devil or two than these posers! The only truly interesting thing about this class is the ‘secert’ promotion option for you. If you have a “BLOOD” (Blood Spell), you can use it on him and turn him into a Vampyre just like a Knight!! That’s right!  Any charts or guides that come with either version of this game don’t mention this at all!   Still, if you got a “BLOOD” (Blood Spell) early on, you may as well just use it on a Knight and be done with it.  If I had a Magic 8 Ball, and was asked whether I would use these, the answer I would give would be “my source point to no!”

To put it bluntly, everything that this class does, there’s a character class that can do it better.   Namely, the Imp class.  And to some extent, Undead.  Both of these have super Back Row attacks, and can rip guys up in the Front Row, without nearly the mental anguish of getting them!  I’ve had my brothers and e-mailers alike try and tell me that an Evil One is actually a decent character class, but I don’t want to rock my boat with these. Unless I’m going for the “use every character class in my deployed units” thing, that can be oh so fun & challenging to do.  Other than such an inane excuse, don’t use these guys, if only for the reason that they simply suck.
