Class Notes & Tips

Well, if your luck is only sufficient enough to get an “STAFF” (Undead Staff), then this will probably be one of the best character classes in the game that you can get.  Depending on your own personal viewpoint, of course! Once you’ve come this far along, I guess finding an “UNDEAD” (Undead Ring) shouldn’t too hard for you to do. In fact, you may even have one or two waiting in your inventory for him!  The whole item thing is just something that I personally find really annoying to have to stress over every time I start a new game is all.  If you have the “LEXICON” (Book of the Dead) handy (you can even get them from fights sometimes), then it should be balls easy.  Just make the swap with Badista the wizard at the town of Valna back in Sharom Border.  I tend to not stay with a Sorcerer much myself, and turn them into Liches right away. A Sorcerer is not nearly as durable as the Lich for one thing, and this is because he has tons of weaknesses, especially to White attacks.  Nothing personal to the Sorcerer, but why hang around with this guy when something much better is readily available?

A Sorcerer has two really cool abilities right off the bat.  The first is that he is one of only two classes able to recruit Undead characters. They are only the lower incarnations; Ghosts & Skeletons, but they can really help if you weren’t able to find any at this point.  The second neato factor is that he does not need to be at a town, and he can recruit them anywhere on the map!!  Of course, you must have free slots in his unit first...  Set up the unit that you want to give the Undead characters to with some characters that were in the Sorcerer’s unit. And, have the Sorcerer’s unit with as many empty spaces as Undead characters as you are going to recruit. Then, have the two units occupying the same spot on the map, so that you will be able to swap characters between them.  Finally, use the Sorcerer to recruit the Undead that you want, and then shift them over into the new unit with the old characters from the Sorcerer’s unit. Now, the Sorcerer has his old unit makeup, while your other unit has some new, unkillable fighting muscle!
