Class Notes & Tips

This class sucks hard. There’s not really any other way to say it.  The effect of stunning the entire enemy unit is cool, I’ll grant you that.  But who would want it on a character class?!  If it at least did some damage along with the attempt, then maybe the times that she missed every single enemy character wouldn’t hurt so bad! And, the times that it does happen to work on some guys, they will have either used up all of their attacks, in which case it did absolutely nothing, or, one of your other characters will land a hit on said stunned enemy, and he will pop back into action again, only to not lose an attack at all! Just hang on to the Hierophant cards if you like this type of attack. The other big annoyance is that when it comes to class promotion, this witch-ay woman gets left in the dust.  Why is there no higher class? I guess I like class advancements too much to use this chic.

The only thing that might make this class worth a damn for even a few minutes is the fact that she’s the only character class in the game that can recruit Pumpkins.  If this is a good thing, that is. My critique of the Pumpkin class is a rather thorough slam.  However, they can change the game up for you when things get boring.  However, the only good thing about this class is almost eliminated, because you need a fricking item to even make this happen!  You have to use a “PUMPKIN” (Glass Pumpkin) on a Witch, and only then will she be able to recruit any Pumpkins.  Otherwise, you will only get the option of Hellhounds.  Which aren’t so bad, but you should have more than enough from the ones that you get in the batch of characters after you beat the first stage, The Castle of Warren.
There is another...
Cool thing about this class, that is!  A Witch is has on of the highest Luck values out of any class. So, what I do is class change her right away to a Valkyrie or Princess.  Then, let the items come rolling in! Well, not rolling, but at a much better rate than normal.  You can find some of the sought-after class items this way! This character class would get an F if it weren’t for the Pumpkin factor. Even Deneb as a Witch is terrible!  She may have ‘got the moon in her eyes’... But dump the broad.

To whom it may concern:
The author does not harbor any ill will against womyn’s rights in any way, and the maltreatment directed towards the Witch in the video game Ogre Battle does not represent the author’s true feelings and views about the female gender. We now return you to his critique of the Ogre Battle characters...
